LANSING—State Sen. Mike Nofs has announced that the Transportation Economic Development Fund has awarded two Category F grants in his district.
The 19th Senate District received $535,000 to fund the two projects.
“I’m pleased to see these important projects get the support they deserve,” said Nofs, R-Battle Creek. “While much more still needs to be done, both projects are another step in the right direction while we work toward a long-term fix for Michigan’s infrastructure.”
The projects include:
- A grant to the Calhoun County Road Department for Custer Drive between River Road and M-89. The grant is for actual costs up to $160,000; and
- An award to the Ionia County Road Commission for East Riverside Drive between South State Road (M-66) and Cleveland Street. The grant is for actual costs up to the approved amount of $375,000.
Category F grants are competitive grants made to eligible road agencies in order to preserve and/or expand all-season road networks within the urban areas of rural counties.
