Nofs announces new manufacturing facility to be built in Homer

LANSING, Mich.—State Sen. Mike Nofs, R-Battle Creek, announced Tuesday that RSB Transmissions NA, a high-volume machining manufacturer, plans to expand its existing operation in the Village of Homer by constructing a new 66,000-square-foot manufacturing facility.

RSB is a fast-growing global engineering organization with business interests ranging from design to manufacturing of aggregates and systems related to commercial vehicles, passenger cars, construction and farm equipment and a wide variety of automotive and off-highway equipment.

The organization plans to invest more than $14 million and create more than 100 new jobs, resulting in a Michigan Business Development Program incentive of $350,000. The Village of Homer has secured the facility by offering support to the project in the form of property tax abatements.

“I am very pleased to hear about the investment by RSB Transmissions in our local community,” said Nofs. “This facility will flourish in Homer by bringing valuable jobs to our hard-working residents.”

The Michigan Business Development Program provides grants, loans and other economic incentive to qualified businesses that make investments or create jobs in Michigan.

Nofs stated that he was very pleased with the persistent efforts of the Village of Homer and RSB Transmissions to strengthen the local economy by creating more than 100 new jobs.
