Sen. Nofs announces town hall meetings

LANSING—Sen. Mike Nofs announced Tuesday that he will be holding three town hall meetings in the 19th District on March 29 concerning Gov. Rick Snyder’s proposed 2012-13 budget. The first two meetings will include a special presentation by the Senate Fiscal Agency.

“The governor has proposed a bold budget that includes many significant reforms and spending reductions,” said Nofs, R-Battle Creek. “These town hall meetings are designed to engage the public in the process, by outlining the governor’s plan and listening to feedback from residents.  I encourage my constituents to attend one of these events, and I look forward to seeing them there.”

The locations and times of the Tuesday, March 29 meetings are:

Noon-2 p.m.
Burnham Brook Community Center, 200 W. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek;

4-6 p.m.
Jackson City Hall, Second Floor, 161 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson; and

7-9 p.m.
Napoleon Township Hall, 6755 Brooklyn Road., Napoleon.
